The first Turkish numbers to know
The core sequence is bir, iki, üç, dört, beş, altı, yedi, sekiz, dokuz and on. The dedicated first mode repeats only these ten essentials. The 10× mode then isolates on, yirmi, otuz and the other tens up to yüz.
That structure is relatively regular, but instant recall still matters. If every price requires mental translation, a simple café or shop exchange becomes much harder than its grammar suggests.
Why practise in both directions
Seeing yedi and selecting 7 measures recognition. Seeing 7 and retrieving yedi is a more demanding recall task. Number Rush alternates the direction so a learner cannot rely on only one pathway.
The optional timer adds fluency pressure, not conceptual difficulty. Disable timed rounds in Settings if speed makes you guess rather than retrieve.
Where to use the skill next
The 1–1000 mode combines the same regular pieces into unfamiliar values such as üç yüz kırk iki (342). The Supermarket Field Mission uses yarım kilo so numbers also leave the isolated drill context.
- ✓Read 13 as on üç, 30 as otuz and 300 as üç yüz.
- ✓Say a price before checking the English gloss.
- ✓Practise values out of order, not only by counting upward.
- ✓Notice that a noun normally stays singular after a number: iki çay, not iki çaylar.
Frequently asked questions
How do you say 20 in Turkish?
Twenty is yirmi.
How are 11–19 formed?
Use on (ten) followed by the unit: on bir is eleven, on iki is twelve, and on dokuz is nineteen.
Can I remove the countdown?
Yes. Turn off timed rounds in Settings; scoring still works without a deadline.
